Paso del Norte Engine Receives NSF Engines Award

The Paso del Norte Engine, consisting of the National Center for Defense Manufacturing and Machining (NCDMM), the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Aerospace Center and W.M. Keck Center for 3D Innovation, has received one of 10 inaugural United States National Science Foundation Regional Innovation Engine (NSF Engines) awards.

For winning, the Paso del Norte Engine will initially receive up to $15 million in funding for the next two years, with a potential NSF investment of $160 million for the team over the next 10 years.

BestColleges Announces Scholarships for WOC in STEM

BestColleges has opened its second annual BestColleges Scholarship for Black Women in STEM for applications. The organization will be awarding $6,000 scholarships to five women currently pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). BestColleges, the education advisory brand of Red Ventures LLC, says it’s committed to breaking down barriers for students in underrepresented communities.
