GE Appliances Opens Facility in South Carolina

GE Appliances officially opened its $70 million state-of-the-art water heating manufacturing plant in Camden, South Carolina. The site will serve as the company’s Center of Excellence for water heater manufacturing and was built for future expansion. Since 2016, GE Appliances has invested $2 billion in its U.S. manufacturing and distribution operations, adding more than 3,000 new employees and creating an additional 88,000 jobs in the nation’s economy.

Peak Toolworks Opens Location number 13

Peak Toolworks, a North American manufacturer of engineered diamond and carbide cutting tools, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open its location in Elkhart, Ind. Their return to the Elkhart area is largely the result of requests by customers to bring their extensive service capabilities closer to the growing market.

Machine Tool Orders Highest Since 1998 in First Quarter

First-quarter machine tool orders reached their highest level in almost a quarter-century. Orders for the first three months of 2022 totaled $1.47 billion–that was 26.5 percent above the same period in 2021 and the best first-quarter figure since 1998.

What’s more, orders in March surged on both a monthly and year-over-year basis. Orders totaled $552.3 million for the month. That was 15 percent higher than February and 20 percent above March 2021 orders.

Fastems Announces Version 8 of the Flexible Pallet Container

Fastems is introducing Version 8 of their Flexible Pallet Container, which provides easy and extendable automation for one to three CNC milling machines with 400 mm to 1,000 mm pallets. The FPC 8 also includes the new FPC-1800, which accommodates twelve to 36 pallets measuring 630 mm to 800 mm in a small 2.4 x 9.2 -meter footprint. Featuring a library of hundreds of ready-made machine interfaces for over 100 brands, the FPC 8 integrates with horizontal machining centers and offers machine tool utilization of up to 85 percent, short setup times, and high lights-out production capacity.
